Baccarat Standards

Baccarat chemin de fer is gambled on with 8 decks in a shoe. Cards valued less than 10 are valued at face value while Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and Ace is one. Bets are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not really people; they just represent the two hands that are dealt).

Two cards are dealt to both the ‘house’ and ‘gambler’. The value for each hand is the sum of the cards, but the beginning digit is dumped. e.g., a hand of five and 6 has a score of one (five plus 6 = eleven; dump the first ‘1′).

A third card may be given out using the following rules:

- If the gambler or bank gets a score of eight or nine, the two players stay.

- If the gambler has less than five, she takes a card. Players stands otherwise.

- If the gambler stays, the house takes a card on a total less than five. If the gambler hits, a chart is employed to determine if the house holds or hits.

Punto Banco Odds

The larger of the 2 hands wins. Winning wagers on the bank payout 19 to 20 (even payout minus a 5 percent commission. The Rake is recorded and paid off when you leave the table so ensure you have funds left just before you head out). Winning bets on the gambler pays out at 1 to 1. Winning wagers for a tie normally pays out at 8 to 1 but sometimes nine to one. (This is a poor bet as ties occur less than one in every 10 rounds. Be wary of gambling on a tie. However odds are substantially greater for 9 to 1 vs. 8 to 1)

Played correctly baccarat offers pretty decent odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Strategy

As with all games baccarat chemin de fer has quite a few familiar misconceptions. One of which is the same as a false impression in roulette. The past isn’t a harbinger of future outcomes. Tracking previous results at a table is a poor use of paper and an insult to the tree that was cut down for our stationary needs.

The most familiar and almost certainly the most favorable method is the one-three-two-six method. This technique is employed to pump up earnings and minimizing risk.

Begin by placing 1 unit. If you win, add another to the 2 on the game table for a grand total of 3 units on the second bet. Should you succeed you will hold six on the game table, remove four so you have two on the third bet. If you come away with a win on the third wager, put down two to the four on the table for a sum total of 6 on the 4th bet.

If you don’t win on the initial round, you take a hit of 1. A profit on the 1st wager followed by a loss on the second causes a hit of two. Wins on the initial 2 with a loss on the third provides you with a gain of two. And wins on the initial 3 with a defeat on the fourth means you experience no loss. Winning at all four wagers gives you with twelve, a profit of 10. This means you are able to lose the 2nd wager 5 times for each successful run of 4 bets and in the end, are even.
