Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards than are of a value less than ten are said to be at their printed number while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they merely represent the two hands to be played).

2 hands of 2 cards will then be dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for any hand shall be the sum of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of seven and five gives a total score of two (sevenplus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card might be given depending on the following codes:

- If the player or banker has a total of 8 or nine, each bettors stand.

- If the player has five or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the gambler hits, a chart might be used to see if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 scores wins. Successful wagers on the banker pay nineteen to 20 (even money less a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and paid out when you leave the table so make sure that you have dollars remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie usually pays 8 to 1 and occasionally 9 to one. (This is an awful bet as ties occur lower than one every 10 hands. Stay away from wagering on a tie. Even so odds are noticeably better – 9 to 1 vs. eight to 1)

When done properly, baccarat offers fairly decent odds, aside from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with every games, Baccarat has some established myths. One of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is not an actual indicator of future results. Staying abreast of prior outcomes on a chart is simply a waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most accepted and probably most successful method is the one-3-two-6 concept. This scheme is employed to boost earnings and minimizing risk.

start by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd bet. If you win the third gamble, add 2 to the four on the table for a sum total of 6 on the fourth wager.

If you lose on the first wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second creates a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. In other words that you can fail to win the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
