Baccarat Regulations

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued under ten are said to be at face value while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they purely act as the 2 hands to be played).

Two hands of two cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The total for any hand shall be the grand total of the two cards, but the initial digit is removed. For eg, a hand of seven as well as five results in a total of 2 (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).

A third card can be dealt depending on the following guidelines:

- If the bettor or banker has a value of 8 or 9, both gamblers stand.

- If the bettor has five or less, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the player hits, a chart is used to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the two scores wins. Successful stakes on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and moved out when you leave the table so make sure you have $$$$$ remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie normally pays 8 to 1 and occasionally nine to one. (This is a terrible bet as ties will occur lower than one every ten hands. Run away from putting money on a tie. Regardless odds are generously better – 9 to 1 versus 8 to one)

When done correctly, baccarat presents fairly good odds, away from the tie bet obviously.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games, Baccarat has some well-known myths. One of which is close to a misconception of roulette. The past is not an indicator of future outcomes. Tracking of historic conclusions on a chart is simply a total waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most common and probably most successful technique is the one-3-2-6 technique. This scheme is employed to pump up payout and lowering risk.

commence by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away four so you have 2 on the 3rd gamble. If you win the 3rd wager, add 2 to the four on the table for a sum of 6 on the fourth gamble.

If you lose on the first wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Winning all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Therefore you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
