Baccarat Rules and Method

Punto Banco Regulations

Baccarat chemin de fer is played with 8 decks of cards in a dealing shoe. Cards below 10 are counted at face value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they just represent the 2 hands that are dealt).

Two cards are dealt to both the ‘banker’ and ‘gambler’. The total for every hand is the total of the 2 cards, however the 1st digit is ignored. e.g., a hand of 5 and six has a score of one (five plus six equals 11; drop the 1st ‘one’).

A additional card might be given using the rules below:

- If the gambler or bank has a value of 8 or 9, the two players stay.

- If the player has 5 or less, he hits. Players stays otherwise.

- If the gambler stays, the banker hits on five or less. If the gambler takes a card, a table is used to determine if the house stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the two hands wins. Winning wagers on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (equal money minus a 5% rake. Commission are kept track of and cleared out once you leave the game so ensure you have cash remaining just before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1:1. Winning bets for tie usually pays out at eight to one but on occasion nine to one. (This is a poor bet as a tie occurs lower than 1 in every 10 rounds. Be wary of putting money on a tie. However odds are astonishingly better for nine to one vs. eight to one)

Bet on properly baccarat chemin de fer gives relatively decent odds, apart from the tie wager of course.

Punto Banco Course of Action

As with all games Baccarat has quite a few common misconceptions. One of which is similar to a false impression in roulette. The past is not a prophecy of events about to happen. Keeping track of past results at a table is a waste of paper and a snub to the tree that was cut down for our stationary desires.

The most common and definitely the most accomplished method is the 1-3-2-6 method. This method is used to build up winnings and limit risk.

Start by wagering one dollar. If you win, add another to the two on the table for a sum total of 3 units on the second bet. If you succeed you will retain 6 on the game table, take away 4 so you are left with 2 on the third round. Should you win the 3rd wager, add 2 on the 4 on the game table for a sum total of 6 on the 4th round.

Should you don’t win on the initial wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed by a hit on the 2nd brings about a hit of 2. Success on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd provides you with a gain of two. And success on the first 3 with a hit on the fourth means you balance the books. Winning all four rounds leaves you with 12, a gain of 10. This means you are able to not win on the 2nd round five times for every favorable streak of 4 rounds and still break even.
