Baccarat Policies and Method

Punto Banco Rules

Baccarat is bet on with 8 decks in a dealer’s shoe. Cards under ten are worth their printed value while 10, J, Q, K are zero, and A is one. Bets are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not really people; they simply represent the two hands that are dealt).

Two hands of two cards are then dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for each hand is the total of the 2 cards, however the beginning number is dropped. For example, a hand of five and six has a score of one (5 plus 6 equals 11; dump the first ‘one’).

A third card may be dealt using the following rules:

- If the player or bank gets a total of eight or 9, both players stand.

- If the player has less than five, he hits. Players otherwise stand.

- If the player holds, the house hits on a value lower than five. If the player takes a card, a chart is used to decide if the house stays or hits.

Baccarat Banque Odds

The bigger of the two totals wins. Winning wagers on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (equal money minus a 5% rake. The Rake is tracked and paid off once you quit the game so ensure you still have money left over just before you leave). Winning wagers on the player pays out at one to one. Winning wagers for a tie normally pays 8 to 1 but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a poor wager as a tie occurs lower than 1 in every ten rounds. Be cautious of gambling on a tie. However odds are astonishingly better for nine to one versus 8 to 1)

Played correctly baccarat provides pretty good odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games baccarat banque has a handful of accepted myths. One of which is similar to a false impression in roulette. The past is not an indicator of future actions. Keeping track of previous results on a chart is a waste of paper and a snub to the tree that was cut down for our stationary desires.

The most common and probably the most successful course of action is the one-three-two-six method. This method is employed to pump up winnings and minimizing losses.

Start by wagering 1 chip. If you succeed, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a sum of three chips on the second bet. If you win you will retain 6 on the table, subtract 4 so you keep 2 on the 3rd round. Should you come away with a win on the third bet, put down 2 on the four on the game table for a sum total of six on the fourth round.

Should you don’t win on the 1st bet, you take a hit of 1. A profit on the first round followed by a hit on the second causes a hit of two. Success on the first two with a defeat on the 3rd provides you with a take of 2. And wins on the 1st three with a hit on the fourth means you break even. Succeeding at all 4 bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. This means you are able to give up the second wager 5 instances for every successful run of 4 wagers and in the end, break even.
