Baccarat chemin de fer is gambled on with 8 decks of cards in a dealer’s shoe. Cards valued less than ten are counted at face value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not actual people; they simply represent the two hands that are dealt).
Two hands of two cards are then dealt to the ‘house’ and ‘player’. The score for every hand is the total of the 2 cards, although the 1st number is ignored. e.g., a hand of five and 6 has a score of 1 (5 plus six equals eleven; ditch the 1st ‘one’).
A 3rd card could be given out using the following rules:
- If the player or banker gets a score of 8 or nine, the two players stand.
- If the gambler has five or less, she hits. Players stands otherwise.
- If the player stands, the banker hits on five or less. If the gambler takes a card, a table is used to decide if the bank stays or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the 2 scores wins. Winning wagers on the bank pay out 19 to 20 (equal money less a 5% rake. The Rake is tracked and cleared out once you leave the game so make sure you still have funds left just before you leave). Winning bets on the player pays out at 1 to 1. As with all games baccarat chemin de fer has a few general false impressions. One of which is similar to a misconception in roulette. The past isn’t an indicator of events about to happen. The most common and possibly the most successful method is the 1-3-2-6 plan. This method is used to build up profits and minimizing risk.
