Rules of Baccarat

Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards under 10 are said to be at their printed number whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they only appear as the two hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards will then be given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for every hand is the sum of the 2 cards, but the first digit is removed. For example, a hand of 7 as well as five will have a score of two (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card might be given out depending on the following standards:

- If the bettor or banker has a score of 8 or 9, each gamblers stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or less, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the bettor hits, a chart is used to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the 2 scores wins. Successful wagers on the banker pay 19 to 20 (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and moved out when you leave the table so make sure to have dollars left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie customarily pay out 8 to 1 and on occasion 9 to 1. (This is an awful bet as ties happen lower than 1 every ten hands. be wary of putting money on a tie. Nonetheless odds are emphatically better – 9 to one vs. eight to 1)

When played effectively, baccarat offers generally good odds, away from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some established myths. One of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is surely not a predictor of future events. Tracking of historic conclusions on a chart is definitely a total waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and possibly most successful method is the one-3-two-6 method. This technique is employed to accentuate payouts and reducing risk.

commence by gambling one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract 4 so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the third wager, add 2 to the four on the table for a grand total of 6 on the 4th wager.

If you lose on the 1st wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Thus you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
