Baccarat Protocols

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are of a value less than 10 are of their printed value while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they purely appear as the two hands to be played).

Two hands of 2 cards will then be given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for any hand will be the sum total of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is dumped. For example, a hand of seven … 5 gives a tally of two (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘1′).

A third card may be played depending on the following regulations:

- If the bettor or banker has a tally of 8 or nine, both players stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the player hits, a chart will be used in order to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the two scores is the winner. Victorious bets on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even odds less a 5 percent commission. Commission is tracked and moved out when you leave the table so make sure that you have cash remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winning bets for tie typically pays 8 to one but occasionally nine to one. (This is a crazy bet as ties will occur less than one every 10 hands. Run away from putting money on a tie. Nevertheless odds are thoroughly better – 9 to 1 vs. eight to 1)

When done properly, baccarat offers pretty good odds, apart from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Tactics

As with all games, Baccarat has some common myths. One of which is very similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an indicator of future results. Monitoring of previous conclusions on a chart is for sure a complete waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most popular and feasibly most successful tactic is the one-three-2-6 method. This method is employed to increase payout and controlling risk.

Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away four so you have 2 on the third bet. If you win the third wager, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a total of 6 on the 4th bet.

If you lose on the first wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. A win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. Therefore you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
