Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards than are of a value less than 10 are valued at face value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they just represent the 2 hands to be given out).
Two hands of two cards will then be played to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for any hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of seven and 5 has a total score of 2 (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card may be dealt depending on the foll. guidelines:
- If the bettor or banker has a tally of eight or nine, the two bettors stand.
- If the player has five or less, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or lesser. If the gambler hits, a chart shall be used to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the two scores wins. Winning bets on the banker payout nineteen to 20 (even money less a 5 percent commission. Commission is followed closely and paid out when you leave the table so make sure you have dollars still before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winning bets for tie as a rule pay out eight to one and on occasion nine to one. (This is a terrible wager as ties occur less than 1 every ten hands. Definitely don’t try wagering on a tie. Nonetheless odds are supremely better – nine to 1 versus 8 to 1)
When played properly, baccarat offers relatively good odds, apart from the tie wager ofcourse.
Baccarat Strategy
As with every games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. One of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future happenings. Staying abreast of previous outcomes on a chart is simply a waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most commonly used and probably most successful method is the 1-3-2-six technique. This scheme is used to build up profits and limiting risk.
Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. If you win the 3rd gamble, add 2 to the four on the table for a sum of 6 on the 4th bet.
If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Coming out on top on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Therefore you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
