Baccarat Standards
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards than are of a value less than ten are of face value meanwhile ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they purely act as the 2 hands to be played).
2 hands of 2 cards will then be given out to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The score for any hand will be the sum of the two cards, but the initial digit is removed. For example, a hand of 7 as well as 5 has a value of two (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A third card may be given depending on the following regulations:
- If the gambler or banker has a total score of eight or nine, both players stand.
- If the bettor has five or lower, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the gambler hits, a chart is used to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the 2 scores will be the winner. Victorious wagers on the banker pay nineteen to twenty (even odds minus a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and paid out when you leave the table so ensure that you have money remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie generally pay out 8 to one and sometimes 9 to 1. (This is a bad wager as ties will occur less than one every 10 hands. Definitely don’t try laying money on a tie. Still, odds are significantlly better – 9 to one vs. 8 to 1)
When played properly, baccarat offers generally decent odds, aside from the tie bet ofcourse.
Baccarat Tactics
As with every games, Baccarat has some established misunderstandings. One of which is close to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future results. Keeping track of last results on a chart is for sure a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most common and probably most successful tactic is the 1-three-two-six method. This method is used to pump up earnings and lowering risk.
Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away four so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a value of six on the fourth wager.
If you don’t win on the initial wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed up by loss on the second brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. In other words you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
