Punto Banco Standards
Baccarat banque is wagered on with 8 decks of cards in a dealing shoe. Cards under ten are counted at their printed value while Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and Ace is 1. Wagers are made on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they just represent the two hands to be dealt).
Two hands of 2 cards are then given to the ‘house’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand is the total of the two cards, but the 1st digit is dumped. e.g., a hand of five and 6 has a total of 1 (five plus six = 11; ignore the 1st ‘1′).
A 3rd card may be dealt using the following rules:
- If the gambler or banker gets a value of 8 or 9, both players stand.
- If the gambler has five or less, he hits. Players otherwise hold.
- If the gambler holds, the banker hits on five or lower. If the gambler takes a card, a table is used to determine if the banker stays or takes a card.
Baccarat Odds
The larger of the two hands wins. Winning bets on the bank payout nineteen to Twenty (even payout minus a 5% commission. The Rake is kept track of and paid off once you quit the game so ensure you still have money remaining just before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie typically pays out at 8 to 1 but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a bad bet as ties happen lower than 1 in every 10 hands. Be wary of putting money on a tie. Although odds are astonishingly better for nine to one versus eight to one)
Bet on properly baccarat chemin de fer provides relatively decent odds, aside from the tie wager of course.
Punto Banco Course of Action
As with all games baccarat banque has a handful of general misconceptions. One of which is similar to a false impression in roulette. The past is not a prophecy of events yet to happen. Recording past results on a page of paper is a waste of paper and an affront to the tree that was cut down for our paper needs.
The most familiar and probably the most favorable scheme is the one-three-two-six tactic. This technique is deployed to maximize earnings and limit losses.
Start by placing one dollar. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three chips on the second bet. Should you win you will now have six on the game table, subtract 4 so you have 2 on the third round. If you come away with a win on the third bet, put down 2 on the 4 on the game table for a grand total of 6 on the 4th bet.
If you do not win on the 1st bet, you take a loss of 1. A profit on the first bet followed by a loss on the second causes a loss of 2. Success on the initial 2 with a loss on the third provides you with a gain of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth means you experience no loss. Winning at all four bets gives you with 12, a profit of ten. This means you can squander the second bet 5 instances for every successful run of 4 bets and in the end, balance the books.
