Punto Banco Rules
Baccarat banque is played with 8 decks of cards in a dealer’s shoe. Cards valued less than 10 are valued at face value and with Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and Ace is one. Wagers are made on the ‘banker’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they simply represent the 2 hands to be dealt).
Two hands of two cards are then given to the ‘bank’ and ‘gambler’. The score for each hand is the sum total of the cards, although the first number is discarded. e.g., a hand of five and 6 has a total of one (five plus six equals eleven; ditch the 1st ‘1′).
A 3rd card can be given out depending on the rules below:
- If the gambler or bank has a score of eight or nine, the two players stand.
- If the player has five or less, she takes a card. Players otherwise stay.
- If the gambler stands, the banker takes a card on five or less. If the gambler hits, a guide is used to see if the house stays or takes a card.
Punto Banco Odds
The higher of the two scores wins. Winning wagers on the bank pay out 19:20 (equal money less a five percent commission. The Rake is recorded and cleared out when you quit the game so make sure you have money left over just before you depart). Winning wagers on the player pay 1:1. Winning bets for tie typically pays 8 to 1 but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a bad bet as a tie occurs less than one in every 10 hands. Be cautious of betting on a tie. However odds are astonishingly greater for 9:1 vs. eight to one)
Bet on properly baccarat offers pretty decent odds, apart from the tie wager of course.
Punto Banco Strategy
As with all games baccarat chemin de fer has quite a few familiar misconceptions. One of which is close to a misunderstanding in roulette. The past isn’t an indicator of future outcomes. Tracking previous outcomes at a table is a poor use of paper and an insult to the tree that surrendered its life for our stationary desires.
The most common and probably the most acknowledged scheme is the 1-3-2-6 method. This tactic is deployed to pump up profits and limit losses.
Start by betting 1 dollar. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three units on the second bet. Should you win you will hold 6 on the table, subtract 4 so you keep two on the 3rd round. Should you succeed on the third bet, deposit 2 on the four on the table for a grand total of six on the 4th bet.
Should you don’t win on the 1st bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the first round followed by a loss on the second creates a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you with a gain of two. And wins on the initial 3 with a hit on the fourth means you balance the books. Winning all 4 rounds gives you with 12, a profit of 10. This means you are able to give up the 2nd round 5 times for each successful streak of four rounds and in the end, break even.
